When I finished the WDI course back in June 2013, I was asked if I’d be interested in teaching the Front-End Web Development (FEWD) course that ran in the evenings.
The FEWD course is primarily aimed at beginners, designers, bloggers and entrepreneurs. Designed to teach students how to quickly translate their ideas into functional, stylised websites for personal or business purposes.
I’m a big fan of General Assembly, it's where I got started with Ruby, and I believe that they provide the perfect environment and support needed to learn new skills in the 21st century. Having come from a teaching background (well sort of... I used to teach Scuba Diving in a past life), and being enthused by seeing people develop and learn, teaching for General Assembly was a no-brainer and I couldn't wait to get started.
This week my latest class graduated and I'm blown away by what they've achieved in just 10 weeks, these are a few links to some of their projects...
- Igor - Bitcoin Diary
- Mel - Portfolio site
- Verity - Name changer
